Should I carry on writing?

I'm nearly sixteen years of age and have been writing novels for a long time now, though at the moment I don't see the point of writing full novels when it's just for my enjoyment, because at the end of it, all I have left is a massive word document taking up my computer space and I feel like - I don't know; like it wasn't worth it, maybe? I want to publish a novel when I'm older, but at the moment I don't see the point of it, except for the enjoyment and that it help prove my skills, though I am going on to do English language and Journalism at college, as I want to work for a teen magazine when I am older, hopefully perusing my dream of getting my book on the shelf. Should I carry on, for the enjoyment and that it helps improve my skills (even though I will during college and work)?
